Hang in there! I did this with Maddie a month after she turned 2. It was so hard! I cut the tops off and then had her throw them in the trash because they were "broken" and put her to bed. We did it at night and luckily she hadn't figured out how to climb out of her crib. She screamed and cried for her binky for 3 hours! She finnally fell asleep out of pure exhaustion! We just were VERY patient and did our best to explain to her that she was a big girl now and didn't need her binky anymore. The crying lasted for about 4-5 days, but then it was done and over with. So I feel for ya and know exactly what you are going through and you are doing it exactly right! Good luck!

Oh the memories! We did the same trick with Parker. It's true. It's not about them, it's how much mommy can handle the fussing. Good Luck!

does not sound like fun. ty still gets his at nap and bedtime. i just can not deal with no naps right now with two boys to take care of. i am hanging on to my last bit on sanity. that would just do me in. good luck!

Let us know how it went! Good luck! That is so brave and the right thing to do - just cut them, so even you don't have a chance to go back...

Let me know how the TV show is tomorrow morning, I wish I could see it! I'm so excited!

Yeah, perseverance is the key with this one. For me, I give a reward each and every day for a good nap/quiet time (Spencer's giving up his nap, and I want to cry, but i am going to keep doing quiet time)... even if it's watching a TV show, havinga popcicle, I talk about it EVERY day before naps. And if he doesn't earn it, remind him of it and why he's not getting it -- and if he does earn it -- turn-up the hoopla!
