Pie Making Day Part I

So I'm attempting to make pies for the big Thanksgiving feast. I made 2 homemade crusts last night, 1 turned out, 1 crumbled into a pile of blah. So today I made the filling for the pumpkin and pecan pies and baked them off. I think they turned out pretty good. I have no idea what they taste like, but they look okay. Tomorrow I will be making a chocolate pudding pie with a graham cracker crust and a apple pie from scratch. Wish me luck, I've never done this before and I'm trying to be a successful pie maker like my Great Grandma Munson. She was known all around town for her pies. Let's hope it's in the genes.

Good luck with the pies. I make good pies, but my crusts are always "ify", they are sometimes great and sometimes yucky. I love pie - my favorite dessert next to ice cream.

I think the hardest part is the crust! Once you're done with that, the rest is a piece of cake (or pie, ha, ha). I can't wait for pies, especially apple and pumpkin! Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!
