Thanksgiving Prep
So what are you in charge of this year for Thanksgiving? I'm interested to see what kind of great trimmings all of you guys are up to and maybe get a few good ideas for next. This year will be a very fun Thanksgiving. We are going down to my parents and my best friend and her family will be joining us. Yeah! I'm in charge of the stuffing and 2 pies (Dutch apple and chocolate) and I'm wanting to everything from scratch so I'll be doing a lot of baking tomorrow. The crusts are prepped and in the fridge, but all the pies will be made to tomorrow and the stuffing will be prepped up to the baking stage as well. I will try to remember to snap a few pictures of the final product and post them on our recipe blog. I'm also trying to wrangle Christmas decorations all at the same time. I've got just about everything up except all of my ornaments and some of the final touches that I have to figure out. Plus all the clean up, blah! It's coming together though and I have a little 3 year who is SUPER excited about all of this. So fun!

Oh, I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving, especially when I get to spend it with my sister and her family. This year I'm in charge of the green bean casserole, squash, 2 pumpkin pies, crab dip, Cranberry Puffs (which are out of this world) and Pizza dip. We have a heavy emphasis on the appetizers. I can't wait!
We're having din-din with the Shipleys, I'm in charge of jello salad, yams and rolls. Horray!
Anywho... I just thought I'd share that my ABSOLUTE favorite part of the day is watching the parade with my kids. It's simply magical to see Christmas wash over them as the balloons come down and Santa gets closer and closer. I have had to work a few of the years, but this year I get to stay home. I think we'll all watch it in my bed for a bit.
i guess i'm getting off easy with 2 french apple pies... :)
