I Hate Fed Ex
So today we were going about our typical routine...Ethan was going down for a nap at 11:00 am as always. I held him for awhile, gave him his favorite blankey told him night night and he was off to dream land while I was off to a workout with Denise Austen. Well, at 11:20 the door bell rang...the fed ex man. Sure enough not 5 seconds after it rang, screams came from Ethan's room. Nap time was over, I was starting to get nice and sweaty, I hadn't even begun to think about showering yet, and my heart sank. So I got him up and we had lunch and played a little bit outside. After I took him back upstairs and I held him until he fell asleep and the minute I laid him in the crib...wide awake. So I got him up, took him to the park and let him get all his energy out. After about 45 minutes he almost fell asleep on the swings so I took him home, got him a snack and took him off to bed. Now it's 2:30, he's still screaming in his crib, hasn't slept more than 20 minutes and I'm about to go crazy. Thank you Fed Ex for ruining my day as well as my son's!!!

don't you just hate those doorbell ringers! I too have had days like that. Just think, this just means eary bedtime, right?
Sorry about Mr. Fed Ex. I can just imagine how mad I would be if that happened.
And now you know why we have a sound machine. :)
We got it just about the time S turned 1.

I don't know if you can do this at your parents....but at your house put a sign over the doorbell that says DO NOT ring---Sleeping baby! I just left my sign up all the time...it was too much trouble to remove it after every nap! In fact during a really bad period (still in 2 naps a day) I had to put up a sign that said.."DO NOT knock OR ring door bell! Do not disturb!" What can I say...it was a hard time in my life and I wanted no one to mess with his naps! And his room is right by the front door (don't buy a house like that!) So even knocking was not good! I second the sound machine thing....we have it on white noise. People laughed at my sign but it worked!
Seriously...those days r aweful! I unplug all my phones during naps and bedtime. If I forget to and they syart ringing I run over and unplug it. Some of you may have had me do that to you...sorry!
